Not as planned....

Well folks, my thyroid did not heal like I was hoping and I am back on traditional meds...I have been quite ill for the past 3 months and it started to really scare me....I gained alot of weight and fell into a depression which is typical for thyroid - but I am on the mend....I feel better already and I'm trying to take off the extra pounds....slow going but that's what happens with a low thyroid....

Day #3 - Cleanse

Feeling better everyday.

Read about the bad effects that caffeine has on our bodies.....I'm glad I don't drink coffee anymore. The more I read about it...the more I'm ok with not having it. It's Dark Chocolate that has me in it's grip so tight. I love it so much.

Anyways....I've dropped 3.5 lbs since Wednesday...can you say bloated water weight? :)

Did a tabata style run this morning - 15 rounds (i was DYING!)....and then tabata style shoulder presses and bent-over two arm rows, just to get some upper body work in.

Day #2 - Cleanse

i feel better already.

Yesterday i ate only fruit. All day.

I am hungry this morning....but I'm sticking to the FIT FOR LIFE way of eating and only consuming Fruit up until NOON. If you haven't read the book....I suggest you do...it's a great read and it taught me alot about digestion.

I made an awesome salad today for lunch:

Butter lettuce (yum)
Red Pepper
Cucumber
plum tomato's
1/2 avacado
3 artichoke hearts (in oil)
Mrs Dash to taste
Lemon juice
1 TBSP Flaxseed oil
2 TBSP sunflower seeds

YUM! I can't wait for lunch! :)

I did tabata interval training this morning. Walking Lunges, sumo squats & step up's on the bench....all outside.....

I did Pilates last night for the 1st time ever. I'm doing a 10-week session.....my back is a little sore....but I liked Pilates...something different.

DAY 1 of the Cleanse

Well I weighed myself this morning...and to my horror I'm 140. OUCH. The lowest I have been was 133 - so I'm up 7 pounds in 2 months. yikes!

I went for a 45 minute interval walk/run this morning. Outside. It felt GREAT! Although my stomach was really sore from the bad food on the weekend.

Today is a FRUIT ONLY day.

I have a little bit of a headache and I'm a little hungry.....but that's ok....:)

21 Day Cleanse...starts tomorrow!

I am giving my body a well-needed cleanse.

For the next 21 days I will abstain from:
1. Caffeine
2. Alcohol
3. Gluten
4. Sugar
5. Animal Products

Since i haven't eaten meat for a few months, I'm really ok with #5. I'm ok with #2 as I over-indulged lately and need to cut back anyways. I'm ok with #3 as I don't eat alot of bread anyways. #1 might be a hard one for Chocolate (I'm off of coffee). and #4 will be hard because of chocolate and sweets (which I'm eating WAY too much of these days).

Well...here's to good health...and maybe a headache, a some cravings over the next few days!

SICK-O

I am sick this week. Just managing to get through the days. Cold has completely got me down. Oh well. Life goes on.......

I bought the book Quantum Wellness - 21 Day Cleanse....upon my return I will blog my way through the 21 days, I believe it's going to be a great healing tool.
